Though commonly known as the Sears Tower, it now goes by the Willis Tower- the tallest building in the United States and the 11th tallest in the world (as of 2014). It began in 1970 and took nearly three years to complete(5). In 2009, the Sears Tower was renamed the Willis Tower for the Willis Group Holdings. Containing 4.56 million square feet and 110 stories, the cost of the tower was an estimated $175 million.
